Steve_resize (9K)Steven Harrity, PT

I am founder and President of Cameron Park Physical Therapy Center, Inc. I first became involved in physical therapy in 1982 while working as an EMT and ski patrolling. I graduated in 1989 at the top of my class achieving Magna Cum Laude Academic Honors from Fresno State. I have been serving the community as a physical therapist in El Dorado County for over 17 years. During this time I have continued to advance my skills and techniques through excessive training. This not only improves myself but also excels our facility and the physical therapy profession as a whole. As a result all members of our community benefit. Working continually in Cameron Park and Shingle Springs for all these years has allowed me to work with a continuum of patients. They have ranged from the extreme athletes, professional collegiate and high school football baseball, volleyball players, motocross and auto racers, to our extremely nice seniors. I have been involved with special events varying from the pro beach volley-ball tour to various triathlons. With the seniors I have had the chance to help them with their specific needs maintaining their independence. I am highly motivated to help all people achieve individual goals.

Born and raised in this community, I received my Master's Degree from the University of Pacific in 1998. I began my professional career in a hospital-based clinic in San Andreas, California before joining a pediatric clinic and a Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program in Lincoln, California for children with neurological and orthopedic conditions. I returned to my hometown and began working at Cameron Park Physical Therapy in 2000 with the multifaceted patient population of our community. I have diversified my clinical care to the many needs of our region including the development of a lymphedema and post-cancer rehabilitation program. In 2006, I completed a six month sports medicine program focused on the restoration and advancement of competitive performance in athletes. I also continue to hold my certification with NARMA as a riding instructor for the handicapped. Along with El Dorado County Search and Rescue, I enjoy horseback riding, hiking, camping, and soccer and utilize my vast knowledge of these hobbies to enthusiastically return my patients to well-being.

Annie McDonnell, PT

I was born and raised in Oregon (North Bend and Corvallis). In 2001, I moved to the Philadelphia area to go to undergraduate and graduate school at Villanova University (VU) and Thomas Jefferson University (TJU), respectively. I earned my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Physical Therapy from TJU and my Associates Degree in Natural Sciences from VU, all with academic honors. I received training across Maryland and Pennsylvania in outpatient orthopedic, acute and sub-acute settings. I feel grateful to have been trained in orthopedics by one of the developers of the National Physical Therapy Boards and to have worked with many exceptional therapists in my short career.

My desire to become a physical therapist was solidified when I endured months of physical therapy following some life-threatening and saving operations. This time gave me a greater appreciation for my independence, energy and capabilities. My goal is to give people tools for physical repair to allow the best quality of life possible, and to help them enjoy it. In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, travel, speaking Spanish and crafts.

ClaudetteClaudette Russell, PTA

I have been Certified Physical Therapy Assistant since 1997. My interests in PT began after sustaining my own sports related injuries. I have an extensive history in competitive figure skating and ballet, and I'm interested in the body's ability to respond and progress through specific training. In the past I have had the opportunity to assist other PT's with Assessment and Strengthening Programs for Fire Fighters in the Bay Area, and to teach off-ice conditioning classes to young ice skaters.

I am an Advanced Certified Massage Therapist. I am fascinated with the body's ability to heal itself, and when a person's focus is placed on this healing, the effects can be amazing. In a massage therapy session, the healing can range from overall body stress reduction and improved health to release of tension in specific areas of the body. As each person is different, so is the massage. Most often, my massage therapy sessions consist of several different massage styles, which may include Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Swedish, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Chair Massage and other modalities. I also offer Deep Tissue Hot Stone and Relaxation Hot Stone Massages. In my spare time I enjoy whitewater boating, and have explored the many mountain biking and hiking trails in the area.

Marian Lowe, Aide, Personal Trainer

I am an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Personal Trainer. During my many years in the fitness industry, I have had many rolls, fitness consultant, tennis player, AAU (Natural) Body Building Champion, active wife and mother. In addition, I have years of experience in healthcare as a nurse, nursing home administrator, pharmaceutical sales representative, ambulatory care clinic consultant, and a regional director for a nationally federally funded chronic disease program with a focus on diabetes and cardiovascular disease. One of the programs components was patient self-management, providing patients with tools and education to assist in the management of their condition. The program was later expanded to include depression and breast and cervical cancer care prevention.

These experiences give me a unique insight into the health and well being of those individuals with specific medical conditions, seniors and also younger adults as they age and their bodies and medical condition change.

I am committed to motivating and assisting others to achieve and maintain a healthy active lifestyle. Some of my interests are alternative medicine modalities such as acupuncture, Reiki and Chi Gung (Chinese health exercise). I enjoy working out and taking long walks with my husband.
